HALLOWEEN HAVOC!, DRIFTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, RELIANT ROBINS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
It's that spooky time of year again, when ghosts and ghouls are out in their numbers; and there were certainly a few at Brentwood RC tonight! As always, the children made a great effort and dressed up for the occasion, including the blood thirsty doctor, the grim reaper, and skeletons! Well done kids, you all looked great! Sadly we don't seem to have any photos to show.
So tonight we ran our usual mix of Hearses and Limos for the ABS Bangers, and in addition we were running the World Championship meetings for the Drifts and Reliant Robins. This being the case, we'll start with the Drifts.
DRIFTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Sadly, with Covid still hanging over our heads, we had just 9 Drifts in attendance tonight, we were hoping for more to make the Championship a little tougher, being as it was for the World title, but at least defending Champion, Dylan Ellis was present, and we had a couple of drivers who don't usually race drifts joining the mix in an attempt to give Dylan some competition! Despite their efforts, Dylan still managed to be first across the line in both rounds 1 and 2, but in round three, L J Saunders took the win with Dylan finishing in 8th place, having completed just 38 laps.

What a great set of results for L J Saunders! Two second places and a win had now placed him on pole position! Were we finally going to see an upset for Dylan Ellis, who now had to settle for P2?
I have to mention the youngsters here, McKenzie Webb and Alfie Parish did exceptionally well against the "big boys", with McKenzie taking 3rd, 5th and 4th; and Alfie finishing 4th, 3rd and 3rd! Well done lads, be proud of yourselves, as we are of you! Luke Poole also fared well, but was having a couple of mechanical problems, that said, he still managed to finish 8th, 6th and 5th, great results Luke! Well done all.

The Championship race was a 60 gruelling laps! L J Saunders made a good exit from the start line, but pretty soon Dylan Ellis passed him to take the lead! There seems to be no stopping this guy! Jack Booker and Alfie Parish tussled, and continually swapped 3rd and 4th place throughout the race. McKenzie Webb pushed hard, as too did Luke Poole. Nick Parish kept out of as much trouble as possible, with Billy Saunders looking out for his brother L J. Dan Morgan completed just one lap before retiring from the race.

What was logged as a 60 lap race seem to go on forever, and as the guys were having so much fun, we were all standing around the track enjoying the show, till suddenly we glanced at the computer to realise the race programme had frozen! We therefore declared the result as it showed on the screen. Congratulations Alfie Parish, a great win, keep it up lad! Barry Mason shocked himself more than anyone else by crossing the line to finish in 2nd place, and coming home in 3rd was Brett Osborne. Well done all, a great fun race!

RELIANT ROBINS CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
So nine drivers and 60 action packed gruelling laps made up the Reliant Robins World Championship Final. The line-up was impressive with some speedy drivers sitting there waiting to go and claim the crown! The race was hectic, the competitiveness was fierce and the banter was resounding! The battle was on, and the crown could go to anyone of these guys!
Everyone pushed hard, but the early leaders setting the pace were Alec Quarman, Koonta, Jack Booker and McKenzie Webb.
Sadly, with only 10 laps remaining, Koonta was out of the race! With one of the favourites now out of the picture, the battle intensified. Finishing in 5th place with 52 laps was Julian Poole, who'd followed his son Luke Poole across the line, as Luke finished in 4th. With 54 laps, McKenzie Webb cross the line to raise the 3rd place trophy, well-done McKenzie, you raced so well! Battling for the win was Alec Quarman and Jack Booker. Alec pushed hard, but Jack managed to pull away from him, leaving Alec having to settle for 2nd place and Jack Booker taking the title of Reliant Robin World Champion 2021! Congratulations Jack, a well deserved win, you kept your cool and pushed hard to take a great win! Championship racing at it's best!

The ABS Bangers were also out tonight, just for fun. There was the usual rounds of banter, crashing and carnage! It's great to see so many newbies joining in all the fun lately!

There were heat wins in the mixed races for Jack Booker (x2), Koonta (x3), and Alec Quarman. Julian Poole took the win in the B Final, and Koonta completed a full house by being first across the line in the A Final. Great racing, wrecking and fun, as always, well-done all!
