MICRO BANGERS, DRIFTS & RELIANT ROBINS
We 're reaching that time of the year when we start to collect the points winners for the year, and tonight was the final round for the Drifts and Reliant Robins! In the Drifts, 183 Shaye Hunter was hanging on to a lead of 22 points, with 71 Dylan Ellis sitting in 2nd place, just 2 points ahead of 233 Dave Nash in 3rd. So all to play for there!
In the Reliant Robins, 183 Shaye Hunter was ahead by 66 points and couldn't be caught, so had the freedom to have some fun tonight! Sitting in 2nd place was 27 Jamie Townsend, with 383 divvy sitting 3rd, just 10 points behind. 58 Darren Howard was sitting just 7 points behind Divvy. This was going to be an interesting evening!

Another great evening for 59 Caitlyn, with 2 heat wins and taking the Final. Caitlyn has come on so well this season, starting later in the year than most of our other Juniors, and clawing her way up to now be sitting in 2nd place on the points chart! Well done Caitlyn, you're our little shining star! 53 Harry, also chasing the points at the top of the chart, had a good evening too with a win, and 2nd to Caitlyn each other race! The usual faces dominated the racing again tonight, with heat wins for 183 Shaye taking all three wins in his heat, and 365 Sleepy taking two wins in heat one; 403 Dan being the winner of round two. Newcomer to Brentwood and bangers, 000 Leon fared well, having previously races 1/8th scale off roaders; and 622 Louie had some good results for his first ever go at RC's! Well done guys! for the Final, it was All-In for some more great racing and carnage!

So another great win for 183 Shaye, making a full house of points for him tonight (he's such a jammy little bugger! lol), ensuring he maintains his lead on the points chart! 203 Jack just beat 71 Dylan to the line on splits, with 403 Dan coming home in 4th place. Finishing 5th was 365 Sleepy, with 6th place going to 22 John and 7th place going to fellow Pirate, 555 Dan. 233 Big Dave picked up 8th place, coming home in 9th was 76 Mathew, and finishing in 10th was 29 Chunky. Great racing guys, always entertaining!
DD
The DD was the usual wreckfest, with plenty of carnage. Cars were dropping like flies as damage ensued and batteries drained, but managing to keep his car rolling till the end, and taking the DD win was 305 George Flack, well done George!
DRIFTS
As I said earlier, tonight was the last night of the points for the annual Championship, and all eyes were on the points chart and results!

The battle was on between Shaye and Dylan, both chasing those winning points! Shaye took round one with a full lap advantage, but Dylan fought back and took round two on splits! Shaye retaliated with a win on splits in round three, again on splits! Exciting stuff! Jack managed to take 3rd place each round and Dave struggled, having trouble finding grip. Chris fared well with 4th place each round, and Dan had problems, completing just 11 laps in round two. Poor Divvy had trouble from the start and retired after the first round ☹️

What a battle! Dylan took the win on splits from Jack, with Shaye coming home in 3rd place, three laps behind. Dan took 4th place on 45 laps, with Dave finishing in 5th with 44 laps. Chris completed just 8 laps before retiring from the race. Exciting racing guys, well done 😍

So not content with having already secured the Championship, Shaye chose to rub their noses in it by winning all three of his heats! John chased hard, crossing the line on splits with Shaye in round one, which has become something of a running joke, these two finishing on splits! Jamie dominated heat two, taking two wins out of three, and finishing round three on splits with Big Dave. Great racing guys!

Shaye finishes the evening off with a full house, taking the chequered flag and maximum points in the Final. Once again, John crossed the line on splits with Shaye (I'm beginning to think he's attached his car to Shaye's with some invisible fishing wire or something similar! Lol), and 3rd place went to Mathew with 37 laps. Jamie came in 4th place, with Divvy following him across the line a lap later to take 5th. Great race guys, well-done 😍
Congratulations Shaye Hunter, Reliant Robins Champion 2018! Shaye take the championship with 188 points, and for those of you who like statistics, out of a possible maximum 250 points, Shaye dropped just 12! Amazing! Once again, another successful evening of racing at Brentwood, many thanks to Midge, Divvy and Co for a great evening. The doors will open again on Saturday 20th October for the Final of the Banger Team Challenge; will Team Chelmsford retain their title, or will The Krankies upset the apple cart? Or maybe The Essex Pirates will kidnap the title! Who knows?
