STOCK CARS

On a hot, sticky and humid afternoon we headed, once again, to the Cow Shed for another evening of RC fun! Today was the turn of the Ford Motor Company, with Sierra's, Cortina's and Capri's, favourite shells for some, dreaded shells for others! Joining the Fords at the track was the ever popular 1300 Stock Cars, for round five of their Club Championship points.

At today's meeting we had 13 Junior Bangers, 26 Senior Bangers and 15 Stock Cars, all willing to brave the intense heat of this unusual British Summer!

It was all about "Girl Power" in round one, with a great battle between Caitlyn and Abbie, concluding with Caitlyn taking the win on splits! Well done girls! Harvey came through to snatch the win from Abbie in round two, with Caitlyn taking the win in round three, a clear lap ahead of Harry. Having suffered receiver problems in the heats, Marc finally had his borrowed car set right, and pulled out all the stops just at the right time to wave the chequered flag for the A Final! Well done Marc, a great race! We can always rely on our Junior racers to provide some great entertaining racing! Well done all!

Heat one was dominated by Shaye, Sleepy Dan and John, all battling to make it across the line in 1st place, with Shaye managing 2 wins and Sleepy snatching the third heat on splits. In heat two, the dominate crew were Koonta, Daniel, Tubs and Tinker, with Koonta victorious in each heat! Some great racing in both heats, with some terrific battles, well done guys!

So another great final closes, with Shaye crossing the line in first place once again! Is there no stopping this lad? And still only eleven years old! Try as he might, Sleepy chased hard but just couldn't quite catch Shaye, and so had to settle for second place once more. Having scored a hat-trick in the heats, koonta was aiming for a full house in the final, but finished in third place, and Daniel came home in fourth. Fifth place went to another of our youngster, Jack and crossing the line to take sixth was Tubs.
​
Great racing from all as usual, with plenty of smiles, which is, after all, what it's all about! Well-done everyone, another great Final under our belts!

DD
We finished the evening off with our usual crashorama of a DD. As usual, the field filtered down until we were left with just two cars running; 53 Harry Palmer for the Juniors and 58 Courtney Howard for the Seniors. These two continued to battle for the overall win, with cheering and encouragement coming from both sides, until eventually Harry's car died and Courtney claimed the win! Congratulations Courtney, and congratulations Harry for putting on such a great show! Well done all!

Some great battling there between Phil and Divvy in heat one, with Tony and Midge holding their own battles for third place! Great racing guys, keep it up!
