JUNIOR BANGERS, BANGERS, and 1300 STOCK CARS

How quickly the past year has gone!  And here we are again, raising awareness for Autism.  Last year we raised in excess of £2000, this year we aimed to beat that, and boy, you did not fail us!  But more of that a bit later, lets give you all the race results first

Some amazing livery there!  Many thanks to all who took the time and effort to create some special designs for this meeting.

BIG, BIG THANK YOU to the following .....

Everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, over 50 altogether, helping us to reach our target.

Peter Bowley, who built a Reliant Robin for an "Arrive and Drive" event at Mildenhall Stadium, which he then raffled via social media and raised £590!  Congratulations to Jamie Webb, who picked the winning number, and will be racing the Robin later this year.

Phil Roggerman, who badgered and collected from work colleagues and family, and raised £410! And then duly painted all their names on his race car!

Alfie Parish, who raised £190 by getting family and friends to sponsor him to race.

McKenzie Webb, who raised £185 by also getting himself sponsored to race.

Denny and Peter Townsend (Sam & Jamie's own boys) raised £105 in sponsorship.

And to everyone who bought raffle tickets, donated to the collection, dug deep, and badgered others to do the same!  All your efforts are so gratefully appreciated, thank you so much.

The grand total raised - £3421!  Absolutely amazing!

£1000 is to go to RAGs (Romford Autistic Groups)£1000 of toys and games vouchers is to go to TRUE COLOURS (a local Autism Club),  and £1421 is to be donated to NAS (National Autistic Society), all thanks to you lovely, generous people!

The Final word comes from Sam Townsend (founder of the Autism Fundraising committee at Brentwood RC Raceway)

I’d like to thank every person that dug deep to support this worthwhile cause. As a mother of a child who is autistic, the amount of acceptance, support and understanding our club members have shown towards ANYONE on the autism spectrum is commendable!

The money raised has gone towards helping those who may not have access to the support needed in our local area and will make a difference by at least bringing a smile to children’s faces.

Thank you to Simon for allowing this charity meeting and for supporting my passion in bringing awareness and acceptance of those with autism to a wider audience. 3 years we have been doing this and every year I’m blown away. I cannot wait to start planning next years event.

Thank you all

Sam
