Today we launched into our first club championship points meeting, with many drivers eager to get their names on the points charts!

First out were the Juniors, setting off on their run to decide who the new Essex Junior Banger Champion will be in 2023. Once again we divided their points into 2 groups, Primary School and Secondary school - both groups race together, but then we pull them out to two separate results for the points awarded. Tonight we had four youngster in the Primary group, and eight in the Secondary group. There was great racing, with 829 Alfie Parish, 103 Luke Poole and 568 McKenzie Webb dominating the results.

Next out were the popular Alloy Bangers, incorporating plenty of crashing and metal bending, much to the delight of the drivers and the spectators!
183 Shaye Hunter finished the first round with an amazing 11 lap lead over 555 Dan Morgan! In heat two, the victor was Norfolk driver, 576 Jack Bartrum, paying a welcome visit to Brentwood. Well done Jack! A win in heat three for newly married 358 Mark Brewster, congratulations Mark on your wins, both on the track and matrimonially!
Crossing the line to take the A Final was 103 Luke Poole, one of our successful Junior drivers, well done Luke!
Despite all his efforts, 555 Dan Morgan had to settle for 2nd place in all three rounds and the Final! Better luck next meeting Dan!

The Steel Stox put on a show tonight, the most entertaining I've ever seen them! The epic battle between 54 Alec Quarman and 14 Julian Poole in heat one was outstanding! Heat two then saw Julian battling with his son 103 Luke Poole, with Luke taking the win, just! Heat three saw Alec come through for the win, with a 3 lap deficit over Luke. Alec then went on to take the chequered flag in the Final, with a five lap lead over 183 Shaye Hunter. Great racing guys, and so entertaining!

Completing the action tonight were the two DD's, one for the Alloy Bangers and one for the ABS Bangers.

380 Brad Evans was the final car running in the Alloy Bangers, taking the win, with 15 Jimmy Roggerman being the last Junior running.
Jimmy then completed the double by being the last Junior running in the ABS Bangers, with 183 Shaye Hunter taking the win for the adults.
