MICRO MADNESS & 1300 STOCK CARS
Well, the shells may have been small tonight, but the night was BIG! This club is going from strength to strength! Did you know we have 1,188 members on our Facebook page? Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much for the support you give and for spreading the word!
The pitting area was rammed tonight with so many drivers and cars! 19 Juniors, 47 Bangers, and 39 Stock Cars graced our track tonight, spread across 81 drivers! Amazing! Not many clubs can claim those numbers, especially for basically what was a domestic meeting! Boasting? Of course we're going to boast about it! And why not? It just proves that the club is doing something right to have that many people wanting to race with us! Congratulations to Midge, Divvy and Co for setting up and running such a great club! Fun and laughter is what it's all about, and there is always plenty of that at a Brentwood RC Raceway meeting!

JUNIORS
Was great to see so many youngsters joining us tonight, and see them all buzzing with excitement as they lined up for their races! Two heat wins for 2017 Points Champ, 115 Sonny Holtom, and just losing out on splits in round three to newcomer 807 Luke Woolven, who amazingly didn't know he was racing until he got to the club, and has never held a hand set until tonight! A duck to water comes to mind, so I think Sonny needs to keep his eye on this one!

An exciting finish to the Final, with 115 Sonny, 807 Luke and 212 George all crossing the line together and their positions defined by split timing! Well done boys, terrific racing!

(DNS stands for "did not start", however, this is not always the case, as some drivers choose to run without a transponder, but obviously if no transponder is fitted, we have no idea where these guys finished, or how many laps they completed.)

Some of these youngster can certainly show the grown ups a thing or two! Keep it up lads and lasses, it's always good to see so many smiley faces!

Not content with having a "smashing" time in the heats and Final, 503 Jake then went on to be last Junior running in the DD, and collected his 1st trophy! Well done Jake!
BANGERS
So we move on to the senior class and as I said before, a great turn out for tonight's meeting. There was a great display of Micro Bangers, with many taking a great deal of time and trouble to present some great looking shells, many thanks to you all for making such a great effort!
In Heat One, 403 Daniel Jordan took the first round, with young 46 Charlie Aylward just a lap behind to take 2nd place. In round two, 46 Charlie came through to take the chequered flag, with 365 Sleepy finishing two laps behind him. Round three, and this time it was 365 Sleepy's turn to take victory, with 46 Charlie two laps behind, and 403 Daniel following home to take 3rd place. Over to Heat Two, and 205 Koonta took the first victory, with 572 Rocket just losing out on splits. In round two, 177 Scott Chopping waved the chequered flag, with 205 Koonta finishing two laps behind. Round three went to 205 Koonta once again, with 177 Scott coming home in 2nd place, and 36 Dean Hunt finishing 3rd. Great racing boys!

Congratulations 205 Koonta, another great final win under your belt! And congratulations to 183 Shaye Hunter, who chased Koonta all the way and finished with him on splits! And all at only 11 years old! Dynamite! Some terrific racing there in the Finals, keep it up guys!
Finishing off the evening (along with his pint!), 461 Paul Aylward was the last car running in the DD, well done Paul, how many is that you've won now? You're making a habit of this! Lol.
1300 STOCK CARS
So last, but certainly not least, we come to the 1300 Stock Cars, and what a shock we had this week, with 39 booking in to come and play! Messenger was red hot between myself and Midge throughout the week, "another 2 stocks booked in", and "3 more just booked!" By Friday morning we were astounded by the numbers, which is what prompted midge to have the marquee erected to provide sufficient pitting space! And good job he did, we would never have fitted everyone in otherwise!
So, with so many to accommodate, we had to split the Stocks into 4 heats, the most we've had here in the Cow Shed, making for some exciting racing throughout the evening. Heat wins for 205 Koonta (x2), 177 Scott Chopping, 403 Daniel Jordan (x2), 366 Simba, 572 Rocket (x3), and 183 Shaye Hunter (x3).

Congratulations to 205 Koonta just holding off 572 Rocket and 183 Shaye, they tried hard, but just couldn't catch the master! A great finish to the 1300's, well done guys, thank you for providing so much entertainment!
So another great evening close here in Brentwood, and despite the large number of drivers to organise, the crew still managed to get everything finished by 11.30pm! Great going guys!
