Happy Birthday Brentwood RC Raceway!  Can you believe it?  Four years old already!  And so much has happened in that four years!  We have seen the club grow from strength to strength!  We have seen drivers come and go; and then come back again, and again, and again!  We have seen the reputation of the club grow, and become undoubtedly THE place to race!  And most importantly, we have seen mountains of fun!  Brentwood RC Raceway, you are THE BEST!

More about the club a little later, let's start with the racing report, and tonight we had 14 Junior Bangers, 41 Senior Bangers, 15 2L Stock Cars, and 15 F2 Stocks.  Another brilliant show at the track, and another evening of great fun and entertainment!

Lol).  Well done Munchkins, you all raced well.

It's been a great season for the Juniors with the number of participants increasing as the year went on.  Our new points system worked well, and kept the places closer together, making the competition much more fun.  And it gives me great pleasure to announce the final top three...

WORDSEARCH

Embarrassment is not something that comes easily to me, but BOY! did I feel embarrassed tonight!  That's what I get for rushing something instead of taking my time and checking every detail!  I can't believe I only corrected the answer sheet and not the question sheet!  What a fool!  Having said that, I did make you all laugh though, didn't I?  But despite all that, many of you still had fun completing the wordsearch, and congratulations to Brandon Turner and Jordan Webb, our two winners from the draw, collecting a SWB body shell each as their prize, kindly donated by Midge from the spares shop.  All good fun!  I will be doing another wordsearch for the Christmas meeting, and be assured, I will not make the same mistake again!  Cheers to all of you who entered into the spirit and joined the fun!

SENIOR BANGERS

41 Bangers in the Senior class tonight, and many decorated with the Birthday theme!  I love how you guys embrace the events here at the Cow Shed!  As with the Juniors, this was the last round of the 2019 Championship points, and with a lead of 28 points, 555 Dan Morgan knew he couldn't be caught, so could afford to go crashing all night if he wanted!  183 Shaye Hunter was sitting in 2nd place, 54 points ahead of 205 Koonta, so he too could not be caught, which was just as well, as he was not racing here tonight!  Sitting in 3rd place, 205 Koonta was just 9 points in front of 203 Jack Booker, who in turn was just 11 points ahead of 645 Paul WeedonPaul was also not racing tonight due to family commitments, so being just 9 points behind him, 365 Sleepy had the opportunity to move up the listing!

HEAT TWO - Now, can someone help me here please?  I mean, The Pete Bowley I know doesn't win races, he spends most of his time going the wrong way up the track and destroying anything that gets in his way!  Yet here we are, Round One, and taking the first win is 195 Pete Bowley!  Does anyone know who this imposter is?  He's making me feel very uneasy!  Whoever he is, he raced hard and fast and took the win on splits from 65 Alan "Shaky" Clarke.  Two laps later, 371 Sean Foley crossed the line to claim 3rd place, and finishing in 4th place was 73 Tony Sims, with 50 Ross Mason coming home in 5th place on splits from 241 Figgy (who was racing in fear of another pasting from his mate 572 Rocket after the onslaught he received from him last week!).  73 Tony Sims took the win in Round Two with 195 Pete Bowley (that imposter again!) finishing in 2nd place.  572 Rocket came home in 3rd place, with 55 Tony Poole crossing the line to take 4th and 65 Alan Clarke finishing in 5th.  Round Three, and a win this time for 572 Rocket with 195 Pete Bowley (this is getting scary!) finishing in 2nd place once again.  3rd place went to 73 Tony Sims, 65 Alan Clarke finished in 4th place, and 5th went to 55 Tony Poole.

ALL-IN FINAL - The 60 lap Final was cut short, when at 56 laps, 572 Rocket crossed the line in first place and the time ran out!  203 Jack Booker finished in 2nd place, also with 56 laps, and with 54 laps, 3rd place went to 555 Dan Morgan365 Sleepy came home in 4th place, with 6 Alfie Jones finishing in 5th.  6th place went to 73 Tony Sims, and crossing the line to claim 7th place was 195 Pete Bowley.  in 8th place we had 802 Alfie Barnard, with 01 Ben Jacques finishing in 9th place, and 10th place going to 409 Stuart Farquhar.  A chaotic final, with plenty of carnage, so hats off to the racers who managed to find the gaps and work their way through, well done!

As with the Juniors, the points competition has been close and hard going at times this year.  124 drivers in total made it onto the points chart and I'm pleased to now announce the final top three

SMART CAR AWARDS

As tonight was rather special, being the clubs birthday, Sam's Custom Designs kindly donated two prizes for the smartest cars of a new SWB body shell, painted and sign written to the winners own requirements.  Jim Burkett of Icini Raceway kindly agreed to be our guest judge (thank you Jim) as he wasn't racing bangers, and he picked 572 Rocket for the Seniors and 16 Denny Townsend for the Juniors, congratulations guys, excellent livery and well deserved.  Now, as Rocket likes to do all his own artwork, he kindly donated his voucher to 568 McKenzie Webb, and as Denny is Sam's son, and already gets all his cars painted by Mum anyway, he donated his voucher to 511 Harry Johnson.  Very gallant lads, thank you, and many thanks to Sam's Custom Designs for the generous donation.  We've also had two beautifully printed pint glasses donated to us by Tammey Farquhar (wife of 409 Stuart and Mum of 734 Jimmy), and those glasses will be winging their way to Rocket and Denny at the next meeting for their generosity.  Thank you Tammey, so very kind of you.

2L SALOON STOCKS

It was also the last points round tonight for the 2L Saloons, and we had 15 gracing the track for this meeting.  22 John Hillyard was leading the points, with 203 Jack Booker sitting in 2nd place, 17 points behind, and then in 3rd place we had 183 Shaye Hunter, 2 points behind Jack.  There was then a gap of 40 points to 4th place, so we knew who our top three would be, but in which order would they finish?  186 Nige Palmer was sitting in 4th place with 383 Divvy just a point behind him.  205 Koonta was then 13 points behind Divvy, with 305 George Flack 3 points behind him.  So plenty to play for!
