TIN CAN ALLY!

Now where else would you want to be on a boiling hot Sunday, than in a boiling hot unit playing toy cars?  The Beach? Nah, too much sand!  Lakeside Shopping Centre?  Nah, too many grumpy shoppers!  Home in the garden?  Nah, boring! No, give me an RC meeting anytime!  And today was the turn of those metal crunching monsters, the Ally Bangers, along with Ally Super Bangers, and ABS ramp racing!  The best fun ever!  We had some new faces joining us today, Dan Chaplin, up on holiday from Dorset; Jack Williams from the newly opened KCO; as well as Paul Knight and Darryl Reeve.  Welcome to you all and thank you for giving us your time.  Hope you all enjoyed yourselves!  And how fantastic was it to see 536 Knobby back racing again?  The man with the Carribean Sunset barnet makes his long awaited return to RC! Yeah, welcome back Knobby, you have been missed!

ALLY BANGERS

As per usual, the Ally Bangers were the usual round of metal-crunching destruction and the drivers fought to keep their cars moving to complete the races!  Plenty of banter too, as is the norm, and some great fun had by all!

Some great results there, and some close finishes!  And plenty of twisted metal to sweep up for the bin, Chid, we need the dustpan back!  (Can't believe he actually took it home last week! lol)  But what matters most is the big, wide smiles on the drivers faces!  As long as you guys are having fun, that's what all this is all about!

For those that managed to straighten the metal and get their cars running again, we held the Ally Bangers DD, which was taken by father and son, 146 Jack Aylward being the last Junior running, and 461 Paul Aylward taking the overall win, well-done boys; don't think I've ever seen Paul laugh so much!  Plenty of entertainment there!

ALLY SUPER BANGERS

In addition to the 1/12th Ally Bangers, we also run the 1/10 Ally Super Bangers (Drifts).  Excellent effort put in by these guys in building their Ally Super Banger body shells, with some brilliant signwriting or designed stickers.  Although the field entry is fairly small, the entertainment levels are through the roof!  Four drivers brought along their Super Bangers today, and they had just as much fun with this formula as any other!

ROUND ONE

1st - 71 Dylan Ellis - 40 laps

2nd - 77 Josh Mackey - 40 laps

3rd - 125 Nathan Webb - 36 laps

ROUND THREE

1st - 77 Josh Mackey - 40 laps

2nd - 125 Nathan Webb - 40 laps

3rd - 71 Dylan Ellis - 40 laps

4th - 590 Mickey Galloway - 25 laps

ALL-IN FINAL

1st - 125 Nathan Webb - 50 laps

2nd - 71 Dylan Ellis - 48 laps

3rd - 590 Mickey Galloway - 36 laps

4th - 77 Josh Mackey - 4 laps

Although there were only four taking part today, these guys still made it entertaining and interesting for the spectators! Especially round three, where three of them finished on splits!  The final was good fun too, though sadly, Josh had to retire early with mechanical problems.  Well done boys, some great racing there, cheers!

ABS BANGERS, RAMP RACING!

To complete the programme of events today, we also had the usual ABS Bangers;  the only difference being, that for rounds two and three they had to run up and over a ramp to complete their laps!  In round two the ramp was the full width of the track, but for round three, Midge complicated it even more, by changing the ramp to one only 1/4 the width of the track, and then placed concrete blocks either side, leaving a much smaller way through, causing mayhem and carnage galore!  The laughter was extreme as the drivers struggled to make their way around the track, and the races lastest the longest time ever!  Great fun!!

We had a glitch in the computer system during the afternoon so we had to stop a couple of races and declared it the result, this being a fun meeting and an all-in final planned, it was deemed unnecessary to re-run the race.

Some great results there, despite the obstacles against them!  And great fun had by one and all!  So we then moved onto the ALL-IN FINAL, now this was going to be interesting!  Moving back to the large, full-width ramp, how would 30 drivers cope all out together!  To add to the mix, the small ramp was then placed against the fence on turn one, with an unended table placed outside the track!  You really have to watch the video for this one!

That was absolutely hilarious!  I thought Midge was gonna have heart attack, he was laughing so much!  And if you want to watch the (not so health & safety concious) video, then click this link and it should take you directly to the video on our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Turbogill/videos/10213285002778117/

To finish off, the usual DD, full of fun, wrecking and reprisals, as per the norm, with the last Junior running being 46 Charlie Aylward and overall winner, 669 Darryl Reeve, well-done guys, not bad for your first visit Darryl, is it?  And Charlie completing the family trio of DD wins today!  Great stuff!

Many thanks to all who helped out today, many thank to all who came, raced and supported the club, and many thanks to Midge for hosting another great meeting in The Cow Shed!

Take care guys, see you all soon!                 I'm off for some much needed ice cream!

Many thanks to all who provided the photos, greatly appreciated.
