HEARSE & LIMO HALLOWEEN BANGERS,

and 1300 STOCK CARS

What we though was going to be a quiet night, surprised us all by becoming rather a busy one!  Fifteen Juniors arrived with their excellently Halloween themed Hearses and Limos, along with the majority of them dressed in Halloween fancy dress!  We also had 33 Bangers in the Senior class, and again, many of them were Halloween themed.  Add to that, an amazing 36 in the 1300 Stock Cars, and we were in for a busy meeting!  With Divvy absent, I took over race control, and with Abigail also absent, Midge took on the job of running the shop and snack bar.  Many thanks to Tubs for helping me with booking in and for scrutineering for me, and many thanks to Cheryl Palmer, who took over in the shop so that Midge could race his 1300 Stock Car.  TEAM BRENTWOOD doing what we do best, pulling together and helping each other to ensure everything runs smoothly.  Thanks also to Danni Edwards, who'd organised the Children's Fancy Dress, bringing along prizes for them all.  I also want to say a very big thank you to Mr Lee Bishop for taking on the unenviable job of judging the Smart Car Awards

JUNIOR BANGERS

As I said, we had 15 of our ankle-biters here tonight, and boy did some of them look scary!  Their Halloween costumes were excellent, and it was great to see so many of them getting into the theme of the meeting, including Danni's daughter Amelia!

Juniors 1.png

With this being the last but one points meeting for 2019, the pressure is on for the top runners in the Club Championship!  59 Caitlyn Howard had a great evening of racing by winning all three heats, though current points leader, 734 Jimmy Farquhar, applied the pressure and finished just a lap behind in round 2 and with Caitlyn on splits in round 3.  Also chasing the points, 53 Harry Palmer fared well with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placings.  Another contender in the points, 568 McKenzie Webb came home with 3rd, 11th, and 5th places, and 829 Alfie Parish finished with 12th, 4th, and 3rd.  Great racing from all our Juniors tonight, well done!  Vikki Parish and myself did giggle at Alfie as he was racing, with his white face paint and the expressions he pulls when racing, he looked really creepy!
