VANTASTIC!

From the little shells of the Micros last meeting, we move to the other end of scale today and bring out the vans.  Just like Marmite, you either love them or hate them!  Well, going by attendance numbers tonight, I would say you love them!  In the junior class we had 14, and in the senior class we had 34!  Great support for the club, thank you.

Some great results there, look at 999 Peter getting a 2nd place!  Well-done Peter, definately Mummy's little superstar! Excellent racing from 212 George, winning two heats, and 1 Jak Conyard, winning a heat and final!  Congratulations.

We had a visit from Shaggy and Scooby tonight, arriving in their usual mode of transport, The Mystery Machine!  Not sure where Dumb and Dumber were, but their Doggy van was here, raising many smiles!  Great effort from all, well-done!

BANGERS

So we move up to the senior class, and classic wrecking and racing from these guys!

No doubt about Koonta being on form tonight!  Three heats wins, with laps to spare in each race!  Some close racing further down the positions, with some awesome wrecking taking place around the track too!  Great stuff you guys!

ALL-IN FINAL

All the usual carnage ensued with the All-In Final, as it always does.  Those that wanted to race, had to pull all their maneuvering skills out of the hat to pick their way through the wreckage, and those that want to wreck, went for it, all guns blazing!  205 Koonta got off to a flying start, to then find himself launched into the centre and caught on the infield fence!  Having sat there for what seemed an eternity, a hit from the outside of the fence knocked him back onto his wheels and he rejoined the race in 24th place!  Meanwhile, 71 Dylan, 365 Sleepy, 203 Jack and 551 Michael were fighting amongst themselves at the head of the race, with the lead changing a number of times.  205 Koonta continued to pick of the places, and another bad hit had him sat on the outside of the infield fence, but not for long!  Released once again, he continued to reel them all in, and eventually finished in 5th place!  Expert driving at it's best, well-done Koonta!  At the top,  the battled continued, with 551 Michael and 71 Dylan pulling away from the rest of the field, battling between themselves for the win.  Finishing on splits, Dylan just had the edge on Michael, and raised the chequered flag, with michael having to settle for 2nd place.  The battle for 3rd place, between 203 Jack and 365 Sleepy also finished on splits, with Jack just an inkling ahead!  Well done guys, a great race, and a great finish.

2L SALOON STOCKS

Last, but by no means least, we have the 2L Saloons, again another great formula to watch!  Not satisfied with dominating the F2's and Bangers, 205 Koonta dominates his 2L Saloons  heats too, taking all three heat wins!  and in heat two, the domination came from 19 James, who has come on in leaps and bounds since first taking up the sport just a few months ago!

DD

To finish the evening off, we had our usual crashfest, which is always great fun, with plenty of banter, as well as carnage and destruction, 1/12th scale style! Much to his shock and extreme delight, 166 Harley Donovan was the last junior running, and the overall winner was 58 Darren Howard, who them promptly complained that he only ever wins a DD when there are no trophies to collect!  So, rapidly, (and not very neatly) we drew a trophy on a paper cup and presented it to him, which returned the big smile to his face!  Congratulations Darren, a well-deserved win!
