Well, storm Dennis didn't stop us last week, and storm Emma didn't stop us this week either!  We had another packed meeting of 73 drivers, here for the 2020 launch of the Banger Teams, Drifts and Reliant Robins club championships.  Yes, that is correct, 27 Reliant Robins, amazing!  You guys never cease to amaze The Brentwood Crew with the support you give the club, we must be doing something right, you keep coming back!!  More new faces today too, so a big welcome to those of you making your debut at The Cow Shed, hope you all enjoyed your racing.

In the Team Bangers we had seventeen teams arrive to start the challenge, and there were some awesome crashes around the track as drivers started their campaign to get their team through to the top group for the Grand Final later in the year.  With 33 drivers in heat one and 32 drivers in heat two, racing was hard, but making their way through the pack and taking the chequered flag was 555 Dan Morgan for the Midnight Runners and 645 Paul Weedon, also for the Midnight Runners. Managing three out of four heat wins each was 183 Shaye Hunter for Anarchists A and 203 Jack Booker, also for the Anarchists A; making these two teams the ones to watch!  Congratulations guys, well raced and deserved wins for you all!

The Anarchists A were the winners of the first round and so took the early lead.  Round two was won by the Midnight Runners A, and round three went to the Anarchists A, who then went on to win round four too.  All scores added and the current Team leaders are the Anarchists A with 53 points.  Sitting in 2nd place is the Midnight Runners A with 41 points, and in 3rd place is the Dirty Half Dozen with 22 points.  In joint 4th place with 21 points each are the Anarchists B and Team Yellow.  Well done guys, great racing, great scoring, and all still to play for!

The Destruction Derby was full of revenge hits and utter carnage as scores were settled somewhat!  55 Barry "Broom Lover" Mason was our last Senior running, and last Junior running was 32 Charlie Ruskin; well done!

We had the start of our 10th scale Drifts Championship tonight, with 7 Drifts gracing the track.  All 7 out together made for exciting racing, along with a couple of barbaric hits too!   71 Dylan Ellis raised the chequered flag for all three heats with leads of 5 laps in round one, 4 laps in round two, and 7 laps in round three!  There really is no stopping this guy!  He then went on to take the final too, with a lead of 4 laps over 203 Jack Booker and 375 Taylor-Jay Liles came home in third.  Plenty of fun had by all, well done guys!

Last, but by no means least, we opened the Club Championship for the Reliant Robins.  In the past we have occasionally had two heats of robins, but never three!  Quite a few of our regular drivers were trying three wheels for the first time, and the line-up was very impressive.  There was a heat win each for 375 Taylor-Jay Liles and 195 Pete Bowley, two heat wins each for 203 Jack Booker and 883 Paul Kenealy, and three heat wins for 183 Shaye Hunter.  The B Final was won by our Junior racer 829 Alfie "Little Taz" Parish with 94 Grant Kilburn finishing 2nd and 55 Barry "Broom Lover" Mason coming home in 3rd.  The fast paced, action packed A Final was won by 183 Shaye Hunter, with 203 Jack Booker crossing the line to take 2nd place and 375 Taylor-Jay Liles finishing 3rd.  Well done all, great racing, very entertaining!
