ALTERNATIVE ALLOY WORLD FINAL,

ALLOY SUPER BANGERS WORLD FINAL

& RELIANT ROBINS

Having been asked by several driver (begged by some!), Midge & Co opted to hold the Alternative World Final for the Alloy Bangers.  With an entry of 57 Bangers, this proved to be a good choice, and we took the decision to hold mixed races; with three heats of 19 drivers, mixing them up certainly livened thing up and kept the drivers on their toes, making sure they were in the correct races!  The races were set for 50 laps each, and having held a Smart Car Parade, we were ready to race.

Round One -

Heat One, and there was plenty of crushing metal and carnage from the off.  First to complete the 50 laps was 46 Charlie Aylward, taking the first win of the day.  375 Taylor-Jay Liles took 2nd place on splits from 7 Josh Mackey

Heat Two, the carnage continued and the walls resounded with the sounds of hard-hitting cars and vivacious banter!  First across the line was 670 Max Eaton, with 3 laps to spare.  555 Dan Morgan finished in 2nd place on splits from 442 Ricky Deans

Heat Three, and once again the wrecking and hard hitting continued.  Fighting his way through to take the win was 329 Chris Green, with 25 Carl Maslen coming home in 2nd place and 595 L J Saunders finishing in 3rd.

In addition to trophies for our top three in the World Final, there were also a trophy each for our Smart Car Winner, 577 Alfie Lee and our DD Winner, 461 Paul Aylward.  Congratulations to you both!

I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that the winner of the Smart Car Award (and this is no bad reflection on Alfie Lee), was picked by a visitor to the club, who'd never been here before, and was not a racer.  I know that many disagreed with their decision and felt the award (myself included) should have gone to 103 Paul Foreman with his epic livery of The suicide Squad!  However, once someone has been asked to judge, we have to go with their decision, whether we agree or not.

ALLOY SUPER BANGERS WORLD FINAL

In addition to the World Final for the Alloy Bangers, we also held the World Final today for the Alloy Super Bangers (basically, 10th scale Drifts with an Alloy shell).  Entries were low, just six taking part, but that didn't make the racing any less interesting or any less exciting!

Round OneAlthough this was a World Final meeting, 464 Billy Roworth chose to run without a transponder, as this was his first attempt at racing a Alloy Super Banger.  The seemingly unstoppable 71 Dylan Ellis crossed the line with a comfortable 2 lap lead over 19 Tubs, who in turn had a 2 lap lead over 375 Taylor-Jay Liles in 3rd place.

Round Two - Another comfortable win for 71 Dylan Ellis, this time with a 2 lap lead over 7 Josh Mackey.  Crossing the line to take 3rd place was 195 Pete Bowley.

Round Three - Yet again, 71 Dylan Ellis was the victor, this time taking the win with 6 laps to spare over 7 Josh Mackey.  Once again, 195 Pete Bowley finished in 3rd place.

RELIANT ROBINS

Last, but by no means least, we have our Reliant Robins.  It was nice to see one of our visiting drivers joining in the fun, along with a field of 10 of our regular Brentwood drivers.  Always good fun, this formula never fails to put smiles on the faces of not just the drivers, but the spectators too!

Round One - A great start for 203 Jack Booker with a 5 lap lead over 371 Sean Foley.  Coming home in 3rd place (with a transponder fitted this time!) was 464 Billy Roworth.

Reliant Robins Winner.png

So yet another successful day draws to a close here at the Cow Shed.  Many, many congratulations to 7 Josh Mackey and 71 Dylan Ellis, both very worthy World Champions, and many congratulations to all our trophy winners today.  It was a great meeting, lots of banter, all in jest, of course, and plenty of smiley faces!  A brilliant atmosphere!

Much gratitude too for Midge & Co for running another successful afternoon, and thank you to all who provided the photos.

We're back next week with Unlimited Bangers, 2L Saloons and F2 Stocks, be sure not to miss it!  Until then, have a great week
