KRASH KING! & 1300 STOCK CARS
Time once again for some team racing, this time, 6-man teams in a one off battle! Eight teams entered the competition, fielding some great drivers. Two teams were entered via CCORC, although to be fair, “Chelmsford B” was more a Wycombe/Kent combination! The “Krankies” were there too with their infamous Olympic Blue livery, along with the “Suicide Squad” and “Midnight Runners”. 686 Pluggs (Richard Goodacre) bought his team, “Team Junk”, down from Kings Lynn, a last minute adjustment created “Ball Bag Racing”, and the Mason family bought out “Quackers”, complete with flashing ducks on the roof!
The format was to be three rounds of two heats, with three drivers from each team in each heat. Overall team points would then determine which Final the team would qualify for and then all team members would be out together! First across the finish line wins for their team!

A good start for Chelmsford B, picking up 42 points, with Chelmsford A just behind them with 41. Coming home with 40 points was the Suicide Squad, with the Midnight Runners finishing with 22. The Krankies collected 12 points, Ball Bag Racing gained 9, Team junk, 8, and Quackers had 5.

It was the turn of Chelmsford A to finish on top this round, with 46 points! Chelmsford B collected 37, and the Suicide Squad finished with 23. The Krankies came home with 20 points, midnight runners got 19, and Team Junk collected 16 points. Ball Bag Racing collected 13 points, with Quackers finishing with 6.

The Suicide Squad crossed the line with 33 points and the midnight Runners came home with 20. Team Junk finished with 15 points, Ball Bag Racing came home with 10 and Quackers finished with 5 points.

Another great race, where Quackers found the biggest advantage in having their ducks in place on their roof, they could see which their cars were; almost every team in the B Final was painted blue! 233 Big Dave crossed the line to take the win for the Krankies. 10 Oliver Whitby, the youngster from Kings Lynn, finished 2nd for Team Junk, with 58 Ginger coming home in 3rd place for the Krankies.

A FINAL
This was a fast and furious race, all vying for that first place to take the Krash Kings title! 54 Alec managed 40 laps and finished in 10th place for the Midnight Runners; in 9th place was 71 Dylan for Suicide Squad and in 8th place was 414 Marc for the Midnight Runners. Crossing the line to take 7th place for Chelmsford A was Rock, with 365 Sleepy finishing 6th for suicide Squad. 555 Dan came home in 5th place for Midnight Runners, and 216 George finished 4th for Chelmsford B, and in 3rd place was 203 Jack for Suicide Squad. Finishing 2nd with 52 laps was 183 Shaye for Chelmsford A, but the winner by 8 laps was 205 Koonta, taking the chequered flag and the overall win for Chelmsford A! Well done Koonta, a great win. To complete the evening for the Bangers, we held the usual wreck fest of the DD. After much carnage and plenty of revenge hits, last car running was 403 Daniel Jordan, well-done Dan!
1300 STOCK CARS
Also on the menu tonight were the 1300 Stock Cars. An entry of 20 cars forced three heats, with some skilful, exciting racing in each.
Three great heat wins there for 183 Shaye, with 22 John finishing on splits with Shaye in all but one race! How frustrating was that? 205 Koonta also had three heat wins, with 106 Phil chomping at his heels in each race! 537 Rocket also managed two heat wins, and 27 Jamie took a win too.
In the B Final, 537 Bradley took the chequered flag a lap ahead of 403 Daniel, with 427 Neil finishing 3rd.
183 Shaye took the win in the exciting A Final on splits from 22 John once again, with 205 Koonta finishing in 3rd place.
Another great evening for the 1300’s once again.
