CHRISTMAS CHAOS!
STEEL STOX ESSEX CHAMPIONSHIP
So the weather outside was dreary
Making everyone feel weary
But at Brentwood RC we grace
Let us race, let us race, let us race!

The crowds were soon arriving
Eager to get their cars a-driving
With smiles all over their face
Let us race, let us race, let us race!
Can you believe it? It's time for Christmas Chaos! once again! How quick has this year gone? Scary! So today we were at Brentwood RC for the final meeting of 2021; and as always with our Christmas meeting, it was any and as many Banger shells as you wished! This meant you had the opportunity to clear out the cupboard, finish a few shells off and have some crushingly great fun!
In addition, we were also hosting the first ever Essex Championship for the Steel Stox, so an opportunity for the winning driver to collect a roof grade and a title, so all to play for there!
STEEL STOX ESSEX CHAMPIONSHIP

Luke Poole got off to flying start, but after a few laps, was spun into the fence and lost his position as leader of the pack. The lead changed a number of times throughout the race, and the racing was intense. Crossing the line with 37 laps, Andy Paterson finished in 8th place, with Luke Poole came home in 7th place with 39 laps. Claiming 6th place was Sam Warman with 43 laps, and Midge completed 53 laps to take 5th place. In 4th place, with 55 laps was Shaye Hunter. Taking the 3rd place podium position was Julian Poole with 64 laps, and 66 laps placed Divvy in 2nd; but crossing the line with 70 laps, and becoming the first ever Essex Champion 2021, was Jack Booker! Congratulations Jack, a fantastic win, and a brand new roof grade!
Well done to all, great racing and very entertaining!
JUNIOR BANGERS
Time for some fun now, and tonight we split the Juniors from the Seniors, gave them their own heat, and Midge had some fun planned for them! He went out in the race with them, with a balloon attached to his car! Who ever popped the balloon would win a prize! Prizes ranged from a bag of crisps to a free race meeting, all pot luck on what they won. Now that gave then something to aim for!

Great racing there from the McNichol brothers, with Finnley claiming the win each round. The Webb cousins, Jaydan and McKenzie, also raced well and had some great results too! In round, one no one managed to pop Midge's balloon and so the prize went unclaimed. In round two, not only did they have to try and pop the balloon, they also had the added hazards of traffic cones and concrete blacks to manoeuvre round! James Nolan was the successful balloon popper and won, wait for it, a free bag of crisps! The winner of the balloon pop in round three was Leo Dilworth, and his prize was a bag of chocolate coins. Pretty well done considering this was his first race meeting, and as well as the cones and concrete blocks on the track, we also had the go-cart tyres being bowled down the straights! The kids were in hysterics, and come to think of it, so were the adults!

Congratulation Jenson, you finally got past your brother and took the win in the final too! Jaydan came home in 2nd place, and in 3rd was Harry. Great racing from these ankle-biters, and so good to see them all having such a great time. And this time they had to endure the ramp too!
TWELVE BALLOONS OF CHRISTMAS
As an extra Christmas treat, Midge created the Twelve Balloons of Christmas - 12 balloons with 12 prizes inside. At the end of each round of racing, Siri randomly picked a number which tallied with a finishing position in the banger races. The driver that finished in that position (1 Senior and 1 Junior) was then given a random number between 1 and 12, again chosen by Siri. The driver then popped the balloon of that number and claimed the prize within.
Balloon 1 - unclaimed
Balloon 2 - 2 King Pins, won by Harry Roggerman
Balloon 3 - Reliant Robin Shell, won by Divvy
Balloon 4 - 4 AA Batteries, won by Ian Noble
Balloon 5 - 5 Grub Screws, won by George Flack
Balloon 6 - 6 R Clips, won by Oliver Holmes
Balloon 7 - 7 E Clips, won by Billy Johnston
Balloon 8 - 8 Wheel Nuts, won by Jaydan Webb
Balloon 9 - 9 Bolts, won by Billy Johnston
Balloon 10 - K10 Speed Board, won by Luke Poole
Balloon 11 - unclaimed
Balloon 12 - 12 Tooth Pinion, won by Jack Booker
Congratulations to all our winners, enjoy your prizes!
Many thanks to Midge for his generosity and ingenuity, great game!
SENIOR BANGERS
Well the kids were having their fun, and the adults were no exception! They too had to endure the hazards placed on the track, and attempt to pop the balloon attached to Midge's car. If the laughter was loud when the kids were racing, it was deafening when the adults were out!

Congratulations Jack Booker, two final wins tonight! You've certainly finished the year's racing on a high! Well done to all our drivers tonight, it has been such an entertaining evening, so good to hear so much laughter, and to see so many people having such a great time!

Raw Models also put up two body shells for the best Christmas costumes, and the winners were Luke Poole, who chose a 2 door Cortina, and Phil Roggerman, who went for a Nissan President. Congratulations you two, well deserved, and thank you for making the effort tonight.
Midge also gave Nicola and Luke Want a bag each of chocolate treat for being the only two who bought a Christmas themed car, well done you two, thank you for your efforts, especially the flashing lights, they looked great!
Tonight's DD was the usual chaotic carnage, plenty of head-ons and loads of laughter! The last Junior running was Billy Johnston, and the last Senior was George Flack, well done lads!
Well, I don't know you're thoughts, but I think that was a fabulous meeting! So full of fun, great racing, a new Champion crowned, and plenty of chocolates! There were two tubs of chocolates being shared around, courtesy of Alan and George Flack, of which we are all very grateful guys, thank you, very much appreciated. Midge also presented all the Juniors with a bag each, containing chocolate treats and a Christmas hat.
So all that remains to say now is thank you all so much for supporting the club throughout the year. Even when we weren't able to actually get here racing, the support from you guys was still so evident.
Many, many thanks to Cheryl Palmer for running the snack bar and shop so well throughout each meeting, Cheryl you're a treasure and we all love you!
And finally, The Brentwood Crew would like to wish you all a very
Merry Christmas
and a very
Happy New Year!
See you all in 2022!
