RAW MODELS BANGERS, F2 STOCK CARS,

2L SALOON STOCKS

Back to the Cow Shed tonight for the annual meeting of the RAW MODELS Bangers.  Not only were we racing the RAW MODELS shells, but also show casing a brand new RAW MODELS shell, the LWB NISSAN PRESIDENT!  Midge and Dave Nash had the honour of being the very first drivers to use these impressive looking shells, Midge concentrating on how well the shell can handle the wrecking, and Dave concentrating on the racing side (where possible!).

Midge verdict -  "The Nissan President is a good shell, it can take a good crash on the front end, and handled well when racing     "

Well done Richard (RAW MODELS), a great looking shell.  So if you fancy having a go with one of these, get yourself down to Midge's RC Spares and Shells, where Midge now has a stock!

59 Caitlyn had three great heat wins, but sadly a wire let her down near the end of the final and prevented her from collecting a full house of points.  339 Abbie took advantage and crossed the finish line to take the chequered flag!  With the battle on for the points championship, and only four rounds left, the competition is becoming intense!  115 Sonny is currently leading the points, and way out in front, but the war for 2nd and 3rd place is very close!  Great racing today Juniors, keep it up!

SENIOR BANGERS

Over to the Senior class now, and tonight we had 29 Bangers gracing the track.  Plenty of banter, as usual, and some mighty hits going in, all testing out the new Nissan President shells that Midge and Dave were show casing!  In the first round, midge had an almighty head on with 546 Kerry, and from that moment on, it seemed there was a big magnet drawing them together; so much so, that Kerry had to miss the third round due to the enormous damage his car suffered!

Shaye had a great run, taking two heat wins and just losing out on a third on splits to Rocket.  Following that success, he then took the Final on splits from Dylan!  Sadly Jamie did not have the evening he was hoping for, struggling to get his his car to run smoothly, although he did manage 3rd in the final. Wayne too struggled to get the laps in he wanted.  John had a great run in the first round, just losing out on splits to Shaye; but then had problems in round two and only managed to complete 3 laps.  He fared better i round three, finishing in 3rd place, and then taking 4th in the final.  Great competitive racing from all the guys tonight, a joy to watch!

The results tonight now takes the points to the following

242 pts - 183 Shaye Hunter

144 pts - 383 Divvy

138 pts - 22 John Hillyard

119 pts - 58 Darren Howard

117 pts - 19 Tubs

115 pts - 27 Jamie Townsend

110 pts - 217 Wayne Mitchell

So John jumps up 2 places, and despite his problems, Jamie jumps up a place too, forcing Darren, Tubs and Wayne down one place each.

Shaye can now not be caught, so Congratulations Shaye, F2 Points Champion 2018!

The others are left to battle it out in the final round on 27th Oct.

2L SALOON STOCKS

Finally tonight we had the 2L Loons, and as with the F2 Stocks, we had reached the penultimate round in the Club Championship.  Upon opening, the standings were as follows

98 - 4 Kev Hunt

So Shaye is sitting pretty at the top still, and needs only to score 2 points in the last meeting to take the title!  John moved up into 2nd place, knocking Jamie down a place to 3rd.  Divvy remains in 4th, and Tinker jumped 2 places to sit in 5th place.  Nige dropped a place and now sits in 6th, Jack jumped up a place to take 7th, with Kev dropping 2 places to 8th.  I'm guessing the last round on 27th October is going to be one to watch!  Well done to all!

So another great meeting closes at the Cow Shed.  Many thanks to Midge and Co for hosting yet another great meeting, and many thanks to you all for coming along and joining in the fun.

Our next meeting is 29th September, when we see the return of the Ally Bangers and Ally Super Bangers for their final points round of the year.  71 Dylan Ellis is leading in both, with a 20 point lead over 186 Tom O'Sullivan in the Ally Bangers, and a 25 point lead over 233 Dave Nash in the Ally Super Bangers; can he hold his lead?  We also have the ABS Bangers for some more non-points fun!  See you there!
