With the threat of more possible snow showers, extreme cold, the Alloy World Series kicking off at high Wycombe, and the full size Civil War at Birmingham, the Brentwood Committee were not expecting the turnout we had in the K1 Unit tonight! The 37 All Ford Bangers, 11 Junior Bangers, 28 1300cc Stock Cars and 14 F2 Stocks totally took Midge and Co by surprise! Brilliant! At least all the extra bodies helped to keep the unit fairly warm, except for when someone left the door open! (What part of KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED do people not understand? lol). It was a packed unit, but a happy one, full of anticipation at how the F2's would run.

Coming home in 7th were Taylor, Martin and Michael, with Martin, Stuart and Shaye taking an 8th place each. Finishing in 9th position were Mickey, Taylor and Stuart, and completing the top ten were Wayne, Jack, and Martin. From the laughter and shouting taking place, I would say the guys and gals enjoyed their racing!

HEAT TWO - 50 Ross Mason, 55 Barry Mason, 58 Darren Howard, 68 Jade Mason, 81 Craig Cheverall, 186 Tom O'Sullivan, 194 Gary Honey, 252 Dean Conyard, 310 Grinner, 365 Sleepy, 371 Sean Foley, 383 Divvy, 407 Billy Brown, 445 Tony Hall, 471 Roy Childs, 546 Kerry Goldstone, 572 Rob Barnard, and 662 Midge.
A rare but well deserved win for Divvy caused uproar, as some joked they wanted the race re-run! Sleepy and Rob were the other two who crossed the line in 1st place, with 2nd places going to Rob twice and Divvy. Taking 3rd place positions were Sleepy, Billy and Midge, much to everyone 's amusement! (Remember Midge's motto, POINTS ARE FOR PUSSY'S!) Tom managed to finish in 4th place twice, and Gary claimed a 4th too. Darren, Kerry and Sean all took a 5th place each, and the 6th place positions went to Gary, Ross and Sleepy. Midge finished in 7th, along with Jade and Tom, whilst the 8th places went to Kerry, Gary and Darren. 9th place finisher were Dean, Midge and Kerry, and the 10th place claimers were Ross, Divvy and Grinner. Again, as there always is here at Brentwood, plenty of loud banter amongst this crowd!

FINAL
With time running away, Midge took the decision to make it another infamous Brentwood All-In-Final, with all 37 due to race together. Roy and Craig both retired their Bangers due to mechanical problems, so that left us with 35. Andy, Dan, Gary and Sleepy failed to record any laps, so no points for them! Ross took 31st place with just 3 laps, and Sean completed just 6 laps to finish in 30th place. 7 laps for Jack gave him 29th place, and coming home in 28th place with 11 laps was Darren. Dave Nash finished in 27th with 14 laps, Tonu finished 26th with 15 laps, and Wayne finished 25th, also with 15 laps. Alex managed 16 laps to finish 24th, and 23rd went to Mickey with 17 laps. Taylor finished 22nd with 18 laps, and Jade finished 21st with 19 laps. Stuart took 20th place, Charlie took 19th place, Grinner took 18th place, and Tom took 17th place, all with 20 laps. Kerry and Martin both completed 21 laps, with Martin taking 16th and Kerry taking 15th place. Barry finished in 14th place with 23 laps, Dean finished 13th with 24 laps, and Billy finished 12th with 27 laps. Splits again, this time between Michael in 11th place and Midge in 10th place, both with 28 laps. 30 laps gave Dylan 9th place, whist 8th went to Craig with 31 laps. Two finishers with 32 laps, Divvy taking 7th place and Josh taking 6th. Rob completed 33 laps to finish in 5th place, with Scott finishing in 4th and Jess in 3rd, also with 33 laps. Shaye raced his little cotton socks off and finished in 2nd place with 34 laps, and having told me his transmitter was totally knackered, Karl completed the full 35 laps to take the Final win! A manic race, with loads of carnage, and a well deserved win for Karl, well done.

1300cc STOCK CARS
There was some phenomenal racing tonight, in all three heat, times and laps were extremely close, making this an exciting formula to watch, and to take part in!
HEAT ONE - 36 Dean Hunt, 58 Darren Howard, 77 Josh Mackey, 177 Scott Chopping, 233 Dave Nash, 311 Stuart Tinker, 319 Daz Fuller, 375 Taylor-Jay Liles, 551 Michael Collins, and 590 Mickey Galloway.
Scott managed a hat-trick and took the win in all three rounds of this heat, but boy did he have to work hard for them! Hot on his heels (or should I say, rear bumper?) was Stuart in round one and then Josh in rounds 2 and 3. Taking the 3rd placings were Josh, Stuart and Daz, with 4th placings going to Taylor, and Darren, twice. Coming home in 5th place were Darren, Michael and Dave.

HEAT TWO - 39 Jess Fuller, 83 Toby Davidson, 109 Bobby Burfield, 183 Shaye Hunter, 194 Gary Honey, 257 Paul Workman, 585 Jon Dake, 636 Martin Burfield, and 662 Midge.
Paul took the win, three time running to complete his hat-trick, but felt the pressure, especially from Shaye who pushed hard to to finish in 2nd place twice, and on splits in round 2. Gary also claimed 2nd place, in round 3. Finishing in 3rd place was Gary, twice, and Shaye. 4th places went to Jon, Martin and Jess, with 5th place positions claimed by Brian, Jess and Jon.

Yet more close racing in this heat, with all three rounds finishing on splits! Simba snatched the win in round one from Dan, with Ross finishing 3rd and Craig 4th also on splits. Round two saw Dan miss out in the win once again on splits, this time losing out to Divvy! Billy finished in 3rd, with Tom snatching 4th place from Craig, again on splits. In round three, Dan's persistence paid off and he finally got his win, on splits from Divvy! (Is this a New Year's Resolution from Divvy, with wins at Chelmsford last weekend, and now at his home track tonight? Keep up the good work!) Billy came home in 3rd place with Simba snatching 4th from Craig, again on splits.

C FINAL
Unusual to not see Daz in the A Final, but, hey, it gets boring if you're winning all the time! But having had low results in the heats, he finally got a win in the Final. Dean finished in 2nd place with 45 laps, and Jade came home in 3rd place with 39 laps. Toby finished in 4th place with 34 laps, and 30 laps gave Bobby 5th place. Roy finished with 27 laps to take 6th place, and Michael, Mickey and Midge were all non-starters.

B FINAL
Craig yet again lost out on splits, this time for the win to Darren, Martin came home in 3rd place with 43 laps and Dave completed 42 laps to take 4th place. Jess came home in 5th place with 41 laps, Brian completed 39 laps to take 6th place and Ross finished 7th with 38 laps. 34 laps gave Jon 8th place, and Taylor and Tom were both non-starters.

A FINAL
Ten drivers were through to the 45 lap A Final, but Gary was a non-starter. Billy took 9th place, Divvy took 8th place and Dan finished in 7th place, all with 37 laps. Paul completed 39 to finish in 6th place, whilst Josh and Simba both finished with 41 laps, Simba just snatching 4th place from Josh. Shaye finished in 3rd place with 42 laps, Stuart came home in 2nd place with 44 laps, and with 45 laps, the clear winner was Scott, well done boys, a great run!

F2 STOCKS
HEAT ONE - 71 Dylan Ellis, 77 Josh Mackey, 183 Shaye Hunter, 319 Daz Fuller, 375 Taylor-Jay Liles, 551 Michael Collins, and 636 Martin Burfield.
A fantastic first race, with the top three drivers all finishing on splits, followed by the next three finishing on splits just one lap behind! Such close racing makes this a great spectators race too! Shaye took the first ever win, followed over the line by Martin, then Dylan. Daz took 4th place, followed closely by Josh and then Michael, and Taylor bought up the rear with 27 laps. In round two, Taylor turned his fortunes around and crossed the line in 1st place! Dylan and Michael battled for 2nd place, finished on splits, and Dylan just managed to push Michael into 3rd and claim 2nd for himself. Daz and Shaye both finished on 28 laps, with Daz just a smidgen in front of Shaye. Martin came home in 7th place with 25 laps and Josh bought up the rear this time with 25 laps. In round three, the top three drivers again finished on splits, Daz taking the win, Michael finished in 2nd, and 3rd place went to Shaye. Dylan was clode behind with 29 laps, and Josh finished 5th with 25 laps. Taylor came home in 6th place with 24 laps, and it was Martin's turn to bring up the rear with 18 laps.

HEAT TWO - 43 Dan Barrell, 50 Ross Mason, 58 Darren Howard, 68 Jade Mason, 81 Craig Cheverall, 257 Paul Workman, 586 Brian Hall,
Dan flew across the line in 1st place, with Brian following behind and taking 2nd place with 29 laps. Splits divided Craig into 3rd place and Jade into 4th, both with 28 laps, with Paul coming home in 5th place with 27 laps. Darren came home in 6th place with 26 laps, and Ross bought up the rear and finished with 25 laps. Again splits decided the winner in round two, with Darren now taking the chequered flag ahead of Ross. Dan just beat Brian into 3rd place with 29 laps, while Craig just managed to claim 5th place over Paul, yet again on splits. It was Jade's turn to bring up the rear with 12 laps. All change again in round three, with split finished once again. This time round it was Ross's turn to take the chequered flag from Dan, with third place going to Jade with 29 laps. 28 lpas each for Darren in 4th place, Brian in 5th place and Craig in 6th. Paul finished 7th with 27 laps.
B FINAL
Martin finished in 6th with 32 laps, while Brian completed 33 laps to take 5th place. The next three drivers all completed 34 laps, with Paul taking 4th place, Craig taking 3rd and Josh clinching 2nd. Girl power reined for Jade, taking her across the finish line first to claim the chequered flag, Essex Bling for the win!
A FINAL
Ross completed 22 laps of this 35 lap race and finished in 7th place. Dan battled with Darren and snatched 5th place on splits, with Michael and Dylan battling for 3rd place, Michael just pushed through, and on 34 laps, took the 3rd place position from Dylan. Again the winner was decided on splits, with Daz taking 2nd place and Shaye taking the win and the chequered flag. Bare in mind, Shaye hadn't even seen his F2 car until this morning! A great race and a worthy win. Well done guys, brilliant work.

Another brilliant race for the ultimate final, and I definitely think Midge and Co made the right decision in bringing the F2's to Brentwood! This is such a great formula! (And of course, I speak as a spectator, not a racer, but judging by the comments and the drivers faces, I believe they agree with me!)

So points scored tonight are as follows
