TEAM BANGER CHAMPIONSHIP, rnd 1

Here we go then, round one of the Team Banger Championship! Last year's Championship provided lots of excitement, with a total of 14 teams entered, there were plenty of targets, and plenty of fun! The Chelmsford club based team of HOT ROCKS won the title, with it all coming down to the Final race of the Final round! Sadly, HOT ROCKS are not returning to defend their title, so it's all to play for this year! Eleven teams fielded their drivers tonight-

ROUND ONE
HEAT ONE - A flying start from Bob Beswick from, pulling ahead of the field, this looked a surefire win for Bob, but disaster struck when he took an almighty head-on which sent him up in the air and over the fence! Race over for Bob! With half the drivers wrecking, it was a tough job for those chasing the points, but Shaye Hunter, in his inevitable style, weaved his way through and took the chequered flag on splits from Nathan Thurlow, who took 2nd and Michael Collins, who finished 3rd. Jack Booker came home in 4th place, on splits from Jess Fuller in 5th, and Jade Mason finished 6th. Divvy crossed the line in 7th place, with Mickey Galloway taking 8th place on splits from George O'Sullivan, and Jay Barnes came home in 10th place.
HEAT TWO - A great start for #TGU, with Josh Cant gliding across the line to claim the win, 3 laps ahead of 2nd place man, Josh Mackey. Finishing in 3rd place was Chris Conn, with teammate, Alec Quarman, following him over the line over the line to finish in 4th. Ian Ardley took 5th place from Dylan Ellis on splits, and Alan Trickett came home in 7th on splits, from Taylor-Jay Liles and James Donovan.

ROUND TWO
HEAT ONE - Making up for his lack of points in round one, Bob Beswick run the track on rails and crossed the finish line 3 laps ahead of 2nd place man, Jack Booker. Shaye came home in 3rd place, with Nathan Thurlow a lap behind to take 4th place on splits from Jess Fuller. Mickey Galloway finished 6th with Brad Barnes coming home in 7th. Jade Mason finished 8th on splits from Darren Howard, and Divvy came home in 10th.
HEAT TWO - Josh Mackey reversed the top two places this time around, with a lap lead over Josh Cant. Taylor-Jay finished in 3rd place, with James Donovan snatching 4th place Alec Quarman on splits. Tom O'Sullivan clinched 6th place on splits, from both Dylan Ellis and Brad Barnes. Dave Nash then finished in 9th place on splits from Kerry Goldstone.

ROUND THREE
HEAT ONE - Nathan Thurlow ran a great race to finish in 1st place, with Shaye Hunter taking 2nd place from Jack Booker in 3rd. Jess Fuller snatched 4th place on splits from Bob Beswick, and Mickey Galloway came home in 6th place. Splits divided Brad Barnes and George O'Sullivan, with Brad just taking 7th place, Jade Mason came home in 9th place, and finishing 10th was Alan Trickett.
HEAT TWO - The two Josh's again dominated this race, with Josh Cant taking the win, a lap up on Josh Mackey. Alec Quarman came home in 3rd place, with Nathan Thurlow finishing in 4th. Taylor-Jay battled hard and managed to take 5th place on splits from Dave Nash and Ian Ardley. Tom O'Sullivan finished in 8th place, with Pinky Cooper coming home in 9th place and Jay Hennessey crossing the line to take 10th place.

Team Black are looking pretty strong in 1st place, but never underestimate Team Chelmsford, with #TGU just one point behind them, these guys do not take losing lying down! Round four is going to be interesting!

ROUND FOUR
HEAT ONE - With #TGU sitting in 3rd place, Nathan Thurlow knew what he had to do, and did it he did, in style! He raced hard and he raced fast, picking his way through and crossing the line to take the chequered flag, two laps ahead of Jess Fuller, who took 2nd. Shaye Hunter came home in 3rd place, with his teammate, Bob Beswick just behind him. Jack Booker came through the carnage to finish in 5th place, while Michael Collins, having resolved his transponder problems, finished in 6th. Brad Barnes took 7th place on splits from fellow teammate, and Dad, and Darren Howard came home in 9th place, while Nathan Webb crossed the line to take 10th place.
HEAT TWO - Josh Cant whizzed his way around the track to take the winning position, with Chris Conn finishing in 2nd place, two laps behind. Josh Mackey came home in 3rd place, and Jay Hennessey came across the line in 4th place, taking the position on splits from Nathan Thurlow and Dave Nash. Taylor-Jay Liles finished in 7th place, while James Donovan managed to snatch 8th place from Alec Quarman and Ian Ardley, who had to settle for 10th place.

So that's it! Round one of this year's Team Challenge concluded. Congratulations to everyone who took part, a great effort from all team members. The final points? Oh ok, if I must!

So TEAM BLACK and TEAM CHELMSFORD go through to the next round level pegging, with #TGU snapping at their heels! A lot of work to be done by the lower finishing teams, but a lot of work also required by the leading teams to maintain their dominance! Good luck to all! The next round is scheduled for 13th May, unlimited shells, that'll be a good one!

F2 STOCKS

Support came tonight in the form of the new F2 Stock Cars. With 14 drivers booking in, we were treated to two heat of 7 drivers, allowing for some fast paced racing!

HEAT ONE - 39 Jess Fuller, 58 Darren Howard, 71 Dylan Ellis, 125 Nathan Webb, 183 Shaye Hunter, 501 Pinky Cooper, and 551 Michael Collins.
ROUND ONE - A great start for Shaye, with a flying start and a great win, a lap ahead of Dylan who finished in 2nd place. Coming home a lap behind Dylan, was Pinky (chairman of Cambridge RC club), who took 3rd place on splits from Darren. Nathan came home in 5th place, with Michael a lap behind him to take 6th. Finishing the line up was Jess in 7th place.
ROUND TWO - It was Nathan's turn to take the chequered flag this time, with a full two lap lead! Dylan finished 2nd once again, and coming home in 3rd place on splits was Michael from Darren and Pinky. Shaye finished 6th, with Jess again coming home in 7th place.
ROUND THREE - And this time the flag was waved for Michael, who finished two laps ahead of Darren and Shaye. Dylan finished 4th,just snatching the place from Pinky on splits. Nathan came home in 6th place, with Jess again finishing 7th.

HEAT TWO - 50 Ross Mason, 68 Jade Mason, 77 Josh Mackey, 89 Nathan Thurlow, 114 Ian Ardley, 321 Richard Whitting, and 375 Taylor-Jay Liles.
ROUND ONE - A great start for josh, with a two lap lead over Taylor to claim the win. Jade came home in 3rd place with Ian just a lap behind her to take 4th. Richard (of RAW Models) finished in 5th place, with Nathan taking 6th and Ross finishing 7th.
ROUND TWO - Josh took the chequered flag once again, with Taylor again finishing 2nd, 2 laps down. Ian took 3rd place this time, with Jade finishing a lap behind him to take 4th place. Richard again came home in 5th, on splits from Ross, and Nathan came home in 7th place.
ROUND THREE - Taylor was the victor this time, running a great race to cross the finish line in 1st place with a one lap lead over Nathan in 2nd. Josh finished 3rd, with Ian coming home in 4th and Richard again taking 5th place. Ross came home in 6th place, and sadly Jade remained in the pits.

B FINAL - 50 Ross Mason, 68 Jade Mason, 39 Jess Fuller, 89 Nathan Thurlow, 125 Nathan Webb, 321 Richard Whitting, and 501 Pinky Cooper.
Ross managed 11 laps to finish in 7th place, and Jade came home in 6th place with 15 laps. Richard again finished in 5th position with 26 laps, and Jess had a much better race to finish in 4th position with 31 laps. The two Nathan's battled for 2nd and 3rd places, with Nathan Webb just beating Nathan Thurlow across the line, placing Nathan T in 3rd and Nathan W in 2nd, both with 34 laps. Pinky completed the full 35 laps and crossed the line in 1st place to take the win.

A FINAL - 58 Darren Howard, 71 Dylan Ellis, 77 Josh Mackey, 114 Ian Ardley, 183 Shaye Hunter, 375 Taylor-Jay Liles, and 551 Michael Collins.
A bad race for Shaye, who managed just 3 laps before retiring from the race, giving him 7th place. Darren completed 30 laps to take 6th place and Ian came home in 5th place with 32 laps. Taylor chased the leaders hard, but had to settle for 3rd place with 34 laps. Josh and Dylan battle for the win, with the split awarding Dylan 2nd place and Josh taking the glory and the chequered flag.

Another great meeting for the F2's, great racing guys, well-done.
2L SALOON STOCKS

Also in support tonight were the 2L Saloon Stocks, 17 drivers entering tonight, making two heats with some terrific racing promised.

HEAT ONE - 27 Jamie Townsend, 58 Darren Howard, 71 Dylan ellis, 125 Nathan Webb, 183 Shaye Hunter, 213 Tracy Cooper, 319 Daz Fuller, 501 Pinky Cooper, and 551 Michael Collins.
ROUND ONE - Yet another great start for Shaye, taking the chequered flag for the 3rd formula in a row! Michael came home in 2nd place, 2 laps behind Shaye, and splits with Michael had place Daz in 3rd place. Pinky came home in 4th place, and Darren finished in 5th, just a lap behind . Finishing in 6th place was Dylan and Tracy came home in 7th place. Jamie managed just 7 laps, and Nathan managed just 3 laps, before both retired from the race.
ROUND TWO - A win this time for Daz, who finished 2 laps ahead of 2nd place, Pinky, who in turned had snatched 2nd place from Shaye on splits. Nathan came home in 4th, with Darren crossing the line behind him to take 5th place. Dylan finished in 6th place and Tracy came home in 7th. Michael finished in 8th place, and Jamie retired after just 11 laps.
ROUND THREE - Michael came out with full throttle to take the win, a lap in front of Daz who finished 2nd. Shaye followed home in 3rd place, with Pinky just behind him in 4th. Dylan finished in 5th place, and Tracy came home in 6th, with Nathan finishing 7th and Darren finishing 8th. Jamie completed just 2 laps before retiring from the race.

ROUND ONE - Such a close finish this one, with the top three drivers divided by splits! Josh managed to sneak forward and take the chequered flag, with divvy finishing 2nd and Ian finishing 3rd. Two laps down, Jack came home in 4th place,with Tom finishing a close 5th, again on splits. Dave came home in 6th place, with Ross finishing 7th and Jade taking 8th place.
ROUND TWO - Josh took the chequered flag once more, again on splits from Divvy. Jack finished in 3rd place, four laps down, and Tom came home in 4th place. Next across the line was Ian to take 5th place, and Ross finished in 6th place. Dave finished in 7th place, and sadly, Jade remained in the pits.
ROUND THREE - A hat-trick for Josh as he once more crossed the line to the wave of the chequered flag! Great racing Josh! Dave came home in 2nd place, four laps behind Josh. Ian finished in 3rd place, with Divvy coming home 4th on splits from Jack, and Tom finished in 6th. Jade finished in 7th place, while her brother Ross completed just 9 laps to finish in 8th place.

B FINAL - 27 Jamie Townsend, 50 Ross Mason, 58 Darren howard, 68 Jade Mason, 71 Dylan Ellis, 125 Nathan Webb, 186 Tom O'Sullivan, and 213 Tracy Cooper.
For the B Final, both Ross and Jamie remained in the pits, unable to race! Jade completed 23 laps and finished in 6th place. Tracy finished in 5th place, having lost out on splits to Tom who finished 4th, both with 40 laps. Dylan took 3rd place with 41 laps, and Darren finished 2nd with 44 laps, but coming home to take the chequered flag was Nathan, completing the full 45 laps.

A FINAL - 77 Josh Mackey, 114 Ian Ardley, 183 Shaye Hunter, 203 Jack Booker, 233 Dave Nash, 319 Daz Fuller, 383 Divvy, 501 Pinky Cooper, and 551 Michael Collins.
Some real close racing, befitting of an A Final, saw Dave, Divvy and Ian all finish with 38 laps, Ian finishing 9th, Divvy 8th, and Dave taking 7th. Pinky came home with 40 laps to finish 6th, and 41 laps each for Jack, in 5th place and Josh in 4th place. Shaye came home in 3rd place with 43 laps, Michael finished in 2nd with 44 laps, and taking the chequered flag with the full 45 laps was Daz. Great race boys, well-done.
