1/10TH DRIFTS

Finally it was the turn of the Drifts, which seem to be more people meeting after meeting.  Tonight we had 16 on show, so two heats for this formula.

HEAT ONE - 68 Jade Mason, 71 Dylan Ellis, 114 Ian Ardley, 233 Dave Nash, 268 Buster, 316 Scott Smith, 662 Midge, and 974 Danny Bodle.

ROUND ONE - With this being one of Dylan's favourite formulas, it came as no surprise to see him cross the line in 1st place, a lap ahead of Danny.  Debuting in his newly acquired drift, Dave was pleased to finish in 3rd place with Jade coming home in 4th.  Ian finished on splits to snatch 5th place from Scott and Midge completed just 2 laps before retiring from the race.  Buster failed to run.

ROUND TWO - A close finish saw Danny take the win on splits from Dylan this time, with Dave again finishing in 3rd place.  Scott came home in 4th place with Ian crossing the line in 5th.  Midge's car finished in 6th place, but not with Midge at the controls!  The couple who run race control at the new club in Folkestone came along to have a look and Midge had leant his car to their son to have a go; don't it annoy you Midge when someone else gets a better result with your car than you? Lol.  Jade came home in 7th place and unfortunately Buster again failed to make it to the track.

ROUND THREE - Only four made it to the track this time, with Dylan and Danny again battling for the win.  Finishing on splits, Danny just managed to inch in front of Dylan to raise the chequered flag, leaving Dylan having to settle for 2nd place!  Once more, Dave finished in 3rd place, and taking 4th was Jade.

HEAT TWO - 1 Alan Gray, 6 Christian Barber, 19 James Donovan, 77 Josh Mackey, 125 Nathan Webb, 375 Taylor-Jay Liles, 551 Michael Collins, and 711 Danny Ellis.

ROUND TWO - Having had a bad start in round one, Nathan made up for it this round by romping home for the win, 2 laps ahead of the field!  Michael finished 2nd, with Josh coming home in 3rd place.  4th went to Danny, whilst Alan crossed the line in 5th place.  James crossed the line to take 6th place, with Christian finishing 7th.  Taylor failed to make it to the track.

ROUND THREE - Michael, Nathan and Josh all battled for the lead, with Nathan managing to inch in front and take the win from Josh on splits; Michael finished 3rd, a lap down.  Danny crossed the line to take 4th place, and 5th went to James.  Alan came home in 6th place, with Taylor finishing 7th, and Christian retiring after just 5 laps.

B FINAL - 1 Alan Gray, 6 Christian Barber, 19 James Donovan, 114 Ian Ardley, and 375 Taylor-Jay Liles.

With a 2 lap lead, Ian crossed the line in 1st place, with James coming home in 2nd.  Christian finished in 3rd place. whilst Taylor crossed the line in 4th.  Alan failed to run.

AFINAL - 68 Jade Mason, 71 Dylan Ellis, 77 Josh Mackey, 125 Nathan Webb, 233 Dave Nash, 551 Michael Collins, 711 Danny Ellis, and 974 Danny Bodle.

This was a fast and furious final, with some really close racing!  Danny was first across the line to take the win on splits from Nathan, with Michael snatching 3rd place on splits from Josh, both just one lap behind the winners!  Beaming like the Cheshire Cat, Dave came home in 5th place with 33 laps, and crossing the line with 22 laps to take 6th place was Danny.  Jade managed 19 laps to finish in 7th place.  Having thrown a hissy fit, Dylan was forced to sit this one out with a broken controller!

So another action packed evening comes to a close at Brentwood.  Another great meeting, many thanks to all who helped out tonight, and we'll see you all again next week for round two of the Team Bangers!
