HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and I wish you all a very happy and Prosperous "Crashtastic" 2017!

Launching the 2017 season today were the  Van Bangers, the Drifts, and the Robins. all fresh and ready to pick up the first points available of the year.

​

BANGERS

HEAT ONE - Harry Andrews, Carl Maslen, Christian Barber, Jess Fuller, Matty Wilsher, Barry Mason, Jade Mason, Josh Mackey, Darren Andrews, Daz Fuller, 406 Kim Lucas, Michael Collins, Midge, and Olivia Foley.

Three straight wins for Mr Collins put a large grin on his ever cheerful face once more!  A couple of 2nd places for Carl, and a 2nd and two 3rd's for Daz caused smiles there too.  Darren failed to make the first heat, but made up for it in the following two rounds with 5th and 8th.  Guildford drivers Matty and Kim had some fun too, with 9th, 4th and 5th for Matty and 11th, 13th, and 7th for Kim.

HEAT TWO - Ross Mason, Darren Howard, Dylan Ellis, Sonny Holtom, Wayne Holtom, Shaye Hunter, Dave Nash, Paul Workman, Taylor-Jay Liles, Sean Foley, Divvy, Mickey Galloway, and Robert Pinnell.

A great win for Paul, and a couple of wins for young Shaye, who this year joins the senior points listing rather than the juniors!  Dylan managed 2nd place twice and a 5th too.  Ginge claimed two 4th places and a 7th, with junior Robert finishing 10th, 8th, and 5th.

FINAL

With 26 Bangers heading for the track, this promised to be the usual mix of racing and wrecking!  Jade, and Dad Barry failed to register any laps, and so lost out on any final points for the day.  Christian completed 7 laps to finish in 24th place, while Robert completed double that to take 23rd place.  Just a touch in front was Kim, also completing 14 laps to take 22nd place.  Paul came home in 21st place with 18 laps, and Olivia completed 21 to take 20th place.  Taylor and Divvy both completed 22 laps, with Taylor just having the slight edge and taking 18th.  Josh just pipped Darren at the post on 26th laps, to push Darren into 17th place and claiming 16th for himself.  Matty finished in 15th place, with Harry finishing 14th, both on 27 laps.  Team mates Sean and Midge battled for 12th place, with Sean just creeping ahead of Midge on the 28th lap to take 13th place.  Mickey came home in 11th place with 30 laps, and Wayne finished 10th with 32 laps.  Both Jess and Darren Andrews completed 37 laps, with Jess taking 8th place and Darren finishing in 9th.  Split finish again, this time for Sonny and Dylan, with Sonny taking 6th and Dylan 7th, both with 38 laps. Dave came home in 5th place with 41 laps, and Daz completed 44 laps to finish in 4th place.  3rd place went to Carl with 48 laps, 49 laps gave Michael 2nd place, and first across the line in this 50 lap final was Shaye.  Well done Shaye, showing the seniors how to do it in style!

DD

The DD was the normal round of loud banter, crashing and bashing!  Taking the win was the big man himself, Dave Nash.

ROBINS

HEAT ONE - Carl Maslen, Ross Mason, Barry Mason, Jade Mason, Josh Mackey, Paul Workman, Divvy, and Michael Collins.

Michael claimed his second hat-trick of the day, by crossing the winning line in first place each heat, with Paul following in 2nd place, the third round on splits!  Carl had two 3rd's and 4th place, with Divvy finishing 4th, 3rd and 4th.

FINAL

Unfortunately, none of the Mason family started the final, leaving just five Robins to battle it out on the track.  Divvy finished in 5th place with 37 lap.  a split finish on 40 laps for Josh and Carl, with Carl finishing just 2 seconds ahaed of Josh to claim 3rd place, whilst Paul completed 43 laps to take 2nd.  Completing his full house for the Robins today, Michael was again first across the finish line with 45 laps.  A good start to the season for the Robins.

DRIFTS

HEAT ONE - Terry Hall, Dylan Ellis, Josh Mackey, , Daz Fuller, Simba, and Michael Collins.

Daz started his Drift season well, with two straight wins followed by a 3rd place.  Terry finished in 2nd place for all three rounds, and Dylan took two 3rd placed, followed by a win in round three.

HEAT TWO - Ross Mason, Darren Howard, Jade Mason, Shaye Hunter, Taylor-Jay Liles, and Divvy.

A hat-trick of heat wins warmed Darren's heart on this cold New Year's Day!  Taylor finished in 2nd place each round, the 3rd places went to Divvy, Ross and Shaye in succession.

FINAL

With the Mason family again dropping out for the Final, the remaining 9 drivers were placed in one final together.  Having had great results in the heats, Taylor managed just 4 laps in the final to finish in 9th place.  8th place went to Shaye with 16 laps, and 26 laps gave Simba 7th place.  Both Divvy and Josh finished with 27 laps each, with Divvy just ahead to take 5th place, leaving Josh to collect 6th.  Splits again for Dylan and Terry, both with 29 laps, with Dylan just 1 second ahead to take 3rd place.  2nd place went to Darren, trailing Daz in 1st place, yet again decided on splits!  Brilliant stuff guys, well done.

​

So another great meeting starts the year off well.  Congrats to all of today's winners, and thank you to everyone who came and raced on this New Years Day.
